Witness | شاهد

Together with the Palestinian Humanitarian Response Center we created an exhibition of children’s drawings depicting the lived experiences of children displaced by the genocidal violence in Gaza. The exhibition traveled from The Hague to Amsterdam to Berlin, creating a space to come together, reflect and feel what it means to be a witness of the atrocities inflicted by Israel on Palestinians today. The quiet, suspended space of the gallery, formed a stark contrast with the reality of war, but nonetheless allowed for a better listening, looking and learning than mainstream media images can currently facilitate.

As a volunteer for PHRC I am involved in raising awareness through exhibitions and educational programs in the Netherlands. We are currently crowdfunding a publication containing these artworks - get your copy here.
